I live in a neighboring state. After months scouring the entire state of Illinois for a particular used car with low miles and the options I wanted at a price I was wiling to pay, I found a vehicle on an online buying site that was offered for sale at EVS Ford. Called to inquire and was connected wi...th Tom, who quickly directed me to their website to see more photos of that vehicle plus all the used cars of that model they currently had in stock. Decided it was worth the 4-plus hour drive to take a look. The car was exactly as pictured and described. Tom knew I'd been looking for quite a while and that I was familiar with the model so did not try to "sell" me. He was very willing for me to test drive several of the other cars they had prior to making my selection. I had checked NADA and Kelley Blue Book prices prior to even calling about the car and learned the car was listed for sale slightly under those values so was not upset when they refused to negotiate on price. Plus the car was a certified used vehicle so felt I had some recourse if something happened once I got home. The car was already pretty immaculate but they washed and detailed it and filled the gas tank while we completed the paperwork. The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is based on two things: The length of time to do the paperwork. The people who do the paperwork don't type very fast, plus they were having some minor computer issues, so it took 90 minutes to get the paperwork prepared. To be fair, they were also doing paperwork for another deal at the same time so if we'd been the only customer it may have gone faster. The second deduction in stars is because one of the floor mats was missing for the vehicle we purchased. Don't know what it is with dealerships and floormats, but I've yet to buy a used car anywhere that came with all the floormats. When we asked if they could take one out of one of the other vehicles with same interior, they said sure--and gave us a gray one (that obviously was not even from the same model) for our dark brown carpet. By that point we'd been there several hours, were hungry, and just wanted to be on the road headed for home. While we waited on paperwork we browsed their inventory of new and used and were amazed at how clean they kept every car even after the winter weather we've had this year and how reasonable the prices were compared to dealers in Illinois. Plus they had a really good selection of late model Fords. Even got to meet Ernie Von Schledorn himself--hope I am that sharp at age 88! Show more

EVS has treated us as well as we could ask for. We have told others that we have zero complaints of EVS and will shop there first for our next vehicle.
