There are three major upgrades available for 2021 Tahoe and Suburban buyers. They are:
- Air Intake Upgrade System
- Chevrolet Performance Exhaust
- Chevrolet Performance Brakes
The air intake option is one flat option with one cost, but both the exhaust and brakes options have multiple facets. Let’s take a look at each.
Air Intake Upgrade System ($625)
The air intake system is only available on the High Country trims for the 2021 Tahoe and 2021 Suburban. Chevy official numbers say that it reduces intake pressure by 13% in the 5.3L V8 engine and 17% in the 6.2L V8. It features a clear plastic cover and a bright red filter for added aesthetics.
Chevrolet Performance Exhaust ($1,645 – $2,145)
The 5.3L V8 engine has the choice of single-outlet exhaust ($1,645) or dual-outlet exhaust ($2,145). Both systems reduce backpressure by 30%. The single-outlet puts adds 7 horsepower and 4 lb-ft of torque to the base specs; the dual-outlet adds 11 horsepower and 6 lb-ft of torque to the base specs. The 6.2L V8 only gets the dual-outlet exhaust. It also adds 11 horsepower and 6 lb-ft of torque to the base engine specs.
Chevrolet Performance Brakes ($2,895 – $3,470)
Partnering with Brembo, Chevy Performance offers six-piston performance front calipers for the 2021 Tahoe and 2021 Suburban. A set of larger Duralife front rotors are also included with performance calipers. For just performance front brakes, the package costs $2,895. A set of rear Duralife rotors costs an additional $575, totaling $3,470 for both front and rear upgrades.
