It can achieve 137 hp at 5,000 rpm and 162 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 rpm. There is an EPA-estimated FWD fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. If you select the AWD option, you will receive the ECOTEC 1.3-L Turbo engine. This engine has 155 hp at 5,600 rpm and 174 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is 26 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

2021 Buick Encore GX Select
The 2021 Buick Encore GX Select is also available with the ECOTEC 1.2-L Turbo engine when the FWD option is selected. The performance numbers are the same as the Preferred trim. If you decide to pursue the AWD drivetrain option, the 2021 Buick Encore GX will be equipped with the ECOTEC 1.3-L Turbo engine. The performance and fuel economy are equal to that of the base trim. The AWD option also includes a nine-speed automatic transmission.

2021 Buick Encore GX Essence
This is the top trim available for the 2021 Buick Encore GX. This means that when you choose this option you get a bigger array of quality features. The FWD drivetrain option has an ECOTEC 1.2-L Turbo engine with a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). When you switch to the AWD option, the vehicle does switch to the ECOTEC 1.3-L Turbo engine, which also switches the EPA-estimated fuel economy. The fuel economy is the same as the base trim model.
