When can I put up my Christmas Decorations for the Season?
Wednesday, November 8th, 2017Now that November is upon us, and Thanksgiving is officially on the calendar, you are already asking yourself if it is too early to start stringing lights from you’re your soffit and putting up the rest of the Christmas decor. The season’s old question has been met with many differing answers, and varies regionally, but here in the Midwest and more specifically Wisconsin, our weather will dictate the appropriate time to decorate your house for Christmas. With all due respect to Thanksgiving, and not to step on its toes, but as soon as November 1st arrives it is appropriate to begin Christmas decorating. However, it is best practice not to wait until after the winter weather arrives.  If you are all amped up for Christmas already and want to deck your halls with bows of holly, it’s not yet time to tinsel up the tree. What are the Best Halloween Candies to Pass Out?
Tuesday, October 17th, 2017There is an easy way to become the most popular neighbor on the block, and that is to pass out the best candy on Halloween. If you already notice the same kids returning to your door for another handout of what you got, then you know what you are doing. Trick-or-treating is all about treats, so if you are passing out nickels, apples or dental floss, just keep your porchlight off and leave the little fairies and Frankenstein’s to find treats elsewhere. There is only one night a year where you get to see the eager face of freckled Pipi Longstocking or a ten-year old with a pirate’s peg-leg walking to your door in hopes of a sweet treat, don’t disappoint them with salt water taffy or candy corn. You don’t need to make or bake anything to pass out on trick-or-treat night, the experts at Mars, Nestle and Hershey have it all figured out for you. Jump in your Ford and get to the store or order from the internet, but make sure that you have the goods to pass out on Halloween night, and you aren’t the neighborhood witch. Thursday, July 13th, 2017Summer time is the season to load up the family and all the gear into the back of the Ford F-150 and hit the woods for family bonding time. Also known as camping, nothing brings the family closer than severing the civilization cord and roughing it at the campsite for a weekend or more. There are no stronger memories made than those made in the wilderness. Sitting around the campfire telling stories and laughing until we cry helps us connect with those closest to us. If it’s time to make life long memories with the ones closest to you, ditch the city and head towards the north woods. Even if you are not an experienced outdoorsman you can still organize a successful camping trip by remembering to bring these basic camping essentials.
