EVS Auto Group First Look: The 2018 Chevy Equinox
By Product Expert | Posted in New Chevy Models on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 at 4:46 pmTo put it simply, today was a great day at EVS Auto Group. We woke up with a slight spring in our step, and we didn’t really know why. Then, when we arrived at the dealership, the news was right there on our desks: we’ve received the photos and details of the 2018 Chevy Equinox, which has been fully redesigned. Let’s not even mess around here, guys; let’s get to the good stuff right away.
2018 Chevy Equinox Release Date | Milwaukee, WI
The All-New Design
From front to back, and everywhere in between, the 2018 Chevy Equinox has been completely reimagined. The sculpted exterior boasts flowing lines that recall the new Malibu and Camaro, while LED daytime running lamps provide a distinctive look even from afar. Inside, the spacious Equinox boasts an innovative dual-cowl cockpit, along with enough rear space for all of your things.
Three All-New Powertrains
We’ll readily admit, this is almost more exciting than the exterior redesign. (Almost.) The new Equinox will offer three outstanding powertrains, each of which is turbocharged. Standard for the new model year will be a 1.5L Turbo engine that is expected to balance power and efficiency with an estimated 31 highway mpg. Up next is an available 2.0L Turbo engine that pairs with a 9-speed automatic transmission that offers 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. And finally, the one we’re most excited for…a 1.6L Turbo-Diesel, which will be the first such engine to be offered in the segment and will offer up to 40 mpg on the highway. So, are you pumped? We’re certainly pumped.
Terrific Tech
Since the 2017 Equinox was already one of the most advanced models in its segment, it should be little surprise that the 2018 will be as well. The built-in 4G LTE WiFi hotspot returns, while the updated Chevy MyLink interface with its color touchscreen maintains its role as a personal command center. Meanwhile, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow for iOS and Android users to easily employ their phone functions, while the new myChevrolet mobile app allows users to monitor their vehicle using just their smartphone.
